Quality Pre Kindergarten Programs in BucksCounty
Funded by Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts
The school districts, community partners and early childhood programs listed below have received funding from the PA Department of Education’s new Pre-K Counts program in the Accountability Block Grant. Children ages 3 and 4 years may attend a high quality pre-kindergarten program free of charge if they meet eligibility criteria.
Pre-K Counts programs are located in Keystone STARS early childhood programs achieving a STAR 2 or higher rating. They use the new PA Early Learning Standards to guide instruction as well as excellent curriculum and high quality assessment. Most importantly, the teachers are highly trained and are experienced in working with young children at risk for educational failure.
Pre-K Counts programs provide developmentally appropriate play based learning, the hallmark of high quality early learning for young children. Coordination with Bucks County Head Start is ongoing. Inclusive programming for children with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) is achieved through partnerships with Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 Early Intervention.
